About Us

Opening in 2002, The Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Hospital is a home away from home for families of ill or injured children hospitalized at Parkview. We serve the families of all dependent children 21 and under. We are a 3000 square foot “house” located inside the hospital near the pediatric units. The home is complete with 6 guestrooms, baths and showers, library with computers, full kitchen, laundry room and a large great room. We welcome not only our guests needing a place to stay for the night, but day visitors as well.

Our open hours are 9 AM – 9 PM, Monday through Friday and 9 AM – 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday. During this time, guests may come in to take a nap, get a snack or drink, do their personal laundry or use the computers. We welcome all families of pediatric patients to join us throughout the day for a respite from the stress of having a hospitalized child.

We take overnight guests by referral from the hospital staff. Nurses, Case Managers, Social Workers, Chaplains, all have access to the referral form required, for guestroom consideration. Our criteria for overnight stay, is the condition of the patient, the location of the family home, and transportation issues. Of course, there are always other circumstances that may indicate the need for an overnight guestroom. Our families have stayed for one night, or as long as six months.
